Linoleum block print on handmade paper

A print from the Print/Paper/Book class I took last semester. We were to create a one-colour linoleum block print on paper we had made. The theme was “relationships.” I chose to focus on the relationship between cats and death, specifically the plague. When the Black Death was ravaging Europe, people blamed cats for the spread of the disease, when in fact it was the fleas on the rats. When they chased away the cats or killed them, the rats had nothing curtailing their breeding, and as their population exploded, so did the disease.
